Overview
Located on the 5/F patio of the Gold Coast Hotel, the 7,980 sq. ft. Tropical Farm is divided into six zones of astonishing foliage, including Leafy Plants, Fern and Air Plants, Cactus Garden, Orchid Garden, Fragrant Garden and Herb Garden. Each zone flourishes a wide selection of exotic flowers and plants, such as Urn Plant, Prayer Plant, Vanda Orchid and Queen of the Night, evoking a sense of being in an unfamiliar paradise for visitors and beckoning them to discover the infinite beauty of nature. The Tropical Farm recently acquired all eighteen species of Platycerium, creating an exceptional collection. Platycerium, commonly known as Staghorn or Elkhorn Fern, belongs to the genus Platycerium Desy, in the Polypodiaceae family. Platycerium is a tropical and subtropical fern that typically grows on trees. There are eighteen known native species of Platycerium found across Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America. By promoting local biodiversity with these different tropical plant species, and inviting visitors to embrace mother nature, we continue to live out our commitment to creating a greener future for all.
